They have alot of stuff about him but they left some off too. I remember hearing a Bob ladd on CKLW around 1968 or so.
Ok here's your problem. There was a guy on CKLW named Dave Ladd or Jim Ladd about the same time Bob Ladd was on WKNR, Keener13. People got the names mixed up so CK did their usual thing and changed their guy's name.
I don't think Bob was at WKNR long because I remember hearing him on 93.5 in Toledo a months later as The Wizard playing album rock or underground music as they called it. He was the first album rock jock in Toledo. this was long before 104.7 WIOT. Later 93.5 became Aware radio and he played top forty songs then. Hope that helps you out.
Bob, how do you claim to know so much about Bob Ladd? I worked with him when he was at WOHO in Toledo and I don't remember him on WKNR however, I do know he worked in Detroit at one time. I think if you check you'll find it was Jim Ladd at CKLW not Dave.
I believe Bob Ladd left WOHO to go back to 93.5 when they changed from album rock to top forty in fact I think he was the program director at 93.5 who made the change
But nobody has answered the question, " Where is he now? " When he sold his station in Sandusky, Ohio I lost trac,,,anybody know?
Anybody remember his other personas like Uncle Bobby or Captain Bob? Sombody already mentioned the Wizard.
I know because I was a fan. I started listening to him on 93.5 in Toledo and then found him on Keener then he was back at 93.5. I couldn't get WOHO where I lived so I never heard him on there. You could be right but I do know I heard him on WKNR in Detroit.
I'm a radio freak. I've listened to it since I was in high school.
About where is he, Karen is right. If you just take the time to go to 440; satisfaction you'll see he is in Florida at Naples. I tried to get that station on line but they arn't streaming. they should do that.
